A Slice Of Pink
Style is very personal. It has nothing to do with fashion. Fashion is over quickly. Style is forever.

These days some women including myself are hesitant to wear something pink. You know, I don't always get that "pink mood" kind of day. I am a woman who has always been attracted to dark & neutral colors. (My friends can testify. Lol) However, when I was in elementary school, I loved pink so much that I wore it most of the time. Even my first deodorant bottle was pink. (Hahaha) My childhood bestfriend, who was and still perhaps a fan of Barbie reinforced my love for pink. Then puberty came, and I started to discover more of myself; then I realized "gosh, no more pink".

When I was browsing the Spring 2017 color trends a good part of it is pink. And I was like, "I don't know about that. I don't know if that still works for me". But one of my fashionspirations of whom is Ms. Liz Uy, whose OOTD during the recent NYFW blew my mind. She wore a chromatic pink YSL stilettos. I thought it was gorgeous, and I was convinced that I can rock a slice of pink this Spring season too.

Just in time after my birthday of this year, I received a couple of gift cards. Yes! Yes! Yes! I of course indulged myself with a little bit of Spring shopping. (Thank you thoughtful hearts!) To all my readers outside the US, I'll give you a little trivia. Most of the US fashion stores/boutiques do a lot of seasonal markdowns, sales, and clearances. Some fashion trends here change quickly. Sometimes they restock if the demand is high. But if it's low they can phase out products. You can't really tell if a certain product that you want is going to be available next season. Shopping for fashion here can be a bit overwhelming, because there are so many brands and styles to choose from. You got to know your style girl or else you'll get lost and waste time in the store! I think it is nice to follow fashion trends, but above all, know yourself. Know which trend works for you. Knowing your personality, character and taste will make your shopping a little less stressful. It's hard to adorn yourself with things that doesn't really speak who you are as a person. For me, fashion is a form of art. It is one of the ways you can communicate yourself to the world and it should be treated with honesty.

Enough with my preaching, here goes my OOTD! In these photos I am wearing a delicate yet beautiful ivory dress. It is an Italian renaissance inspired piece that is perfect for Spring time weather. Part of this year's fashion trends are a pair of statement earrings. Yes! I gave it a try, and I am thinking of collecting more in the future. I wore a pair of vintage gold earrings with an accent of black gems and black tassels. And finally my slice of pink! Actually, "slices" of pink. (Hahaha) A pink crossbody bag with a gold chain accent together with my MBB foldable pink flats. Including taxes I paid less than $45.00. Isn't it awesome to have a perfect OOTD less for less than $50.00? Of course it is!
