Easter Weekend Getaway

Have you ever felt like you've worked so much that you just need a little scene change?

The big question every working person (I believe) can answer with a big YES. Especially when you're working at an environment that's fast pace, stressful, and painful at times (physically and emotionally). Yes, there are days where we love our jobs but there are also days where we just need to take care of our well-being. Can I get an amen?!

The hubby and I went to a little getaway to have a wonderful rest and celebrate the Lord's love for us. What else is new and near? Houston. We love Houston. The food, the fun, the weather, and everything else in-between. For me... especially the galleria. Haha

I chose this picture as the first one because my husband's just tooooo cute. Lol

We drove more than two hours from Austin and it was fun and relaxing. First stop was Jollibeeeeeeeeeee bida ang saya! Hahaha I missed Jollibee so much that my first meal when we arrive has to be it. It was satisfying especially being super far away from my country. Then we stayed at Hilton Inn (highly recommended!) for the rest of the weekend.

Again! What else is new?! Jenny has to go to the Galleria Mall. Lol! So we went there and visited the Water Wall because we weren't able to visit two years ago. It was so refreshing for that day's weather. Free mist!

Every time we have to go travel, I ALWAYS make sure I have outfits I feel good about wearing and camera ready. Sounds funny but I am just being honest here. (Grin) I put together simple but pretty pieces that are not too hot for the humid weather and above all comfy. I don't want to put too much thought on my clothes during that getaway because it's all about chilling.

Outfit Breakdown: Forever21 Striped Linen-Blend Jumpsuit (From Forever21) = $24.90 | | Marc Fisher LTD Adalyn Espadrille Wedge Sandal (From Nordstrom Rack) = $79.97 | Topshop Wooden Grab Tote Bag (From Topshop) = $60.00 | Fossil Couple Watch (From Fossil Outlet) = $129.00 | Forever21 Tassel Earrings (From Forever21) = $5.99

Just a heads up, I didn't buy all these at the same time. If I did, I'd be broke. Haha Remember the things I said that are worth saving for? These are a few of mine. :)

My husband planned this trip and the biggest part of it is to go to the beach and just rest with drinks and food. We drove to Galveston from downtown Houston then rode a free ferry to Bolivar Peninsula and then drove to Crystal Beach. It was about a 15 minute ride but we waited in line probably 30-40 minutes. If you plan to go, set aside some time to wait for the ferry. Also before you go to the beach, buy a parking pass at the convenience store a minute away from the beach.

After the beach, we were planning to go to this sea food restaurant that my husband reserved a reservation at but it was too late for that. So we ended up eating Korean food. If ever you get to visit Houston and love Korean food, you should eat at Tree Garden Restaurant. I wished I took photos of the place but we were just so hungry that I didn't care about the blog!!! Haha The food is not just awesome but also the service was SUPERB!

That's a wrap! Although it was such a short getaway, we had fun. The morning after that night was just traveling to Austin and food stops.

Above all the fun and this blog, I want you to know that...

JESUS loves you.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16

"The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen." - 1 Timothy 1:15-17

"Til next time! - Xx, Jenny
